About the Design

The Tyrannosaurus rex, or T. rex, is one of the world’s most famous and recognisable dinosaurs. It was a large bipedal carnivore that lived in what is now western North America during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 66 to 68 million years ago. 

T. rex was the largest land carnivore of all time, reaching up to 12 metres in length and weighing up to 7 tonnes. It had a massive head with a long, powerful jaw full of sharp, serrated teeth. T. rex had a short neck and a long, muscular tail, which it used for balance and as a weapon. Its forelimbs were small and weak, but surprisingly strong for their size. They were used to hold prey.

T. rex was a formidable predator, and it is estimated that it could run at speeds of up to 50 kilometres per hour. It hunted a variety of prey, including other dinosaurs, such as Triceratops and hadrosaurs, as well as mammals and reptiles.

T. rex is one of the most iconic dinosaurs in popular culture and has appeared in countless films, books and television programmes. It is a symbol of power, ferocity and the mystery of the ancient world.
